Block 7 Launch

Well, I’d say enough time has now passed for us to reflect on the launch of Block 7, seeing as it was in, oh, October... Rest assured, however, that our extended sabbatical from the website and prodding you all for submissions comes off the back of a highly successful launch and promotion of the journal, thanks to the efforts of our trusty band of editors.

It was great to see that the promise of quality writing and cupcakes drew a crowd, but we suspect it also had something to do with our guest speaker. We were pleased to have noted author and martini connoisseur Frank Moorhouse launching the journal. Frank gave a speech that reassured us all about our venture, reminding the audience of the important role little magazines play in the Australian literary scene, providing a means for new authors to share their work and receive feedback. We then had some of the authors we published in Block 7 perform their work for the crowd; thank you to Hadley, Helena and Sam for keeping us entertained.
Then, more wine and cupcakes!
Then, a rest.

But now we’re back and we’re asking for all your creative scribblings, your non-fiction ponderings, your photos, art and comics for Block 8! Please refer to our submissions guidelines for more information.
